A wonderful excursion to Murgecchia along the large tuff quarries opened in 1700, starting from Cava Paradiso which today houses an open-air museum of contemporary art sculptures. From there continue to the Sanctuary of the Palomba, skirting a very deep and abandoned quarry before reaching the sanctuary from where a path
starts crossing the typical garrigue of the Murgia.

Passing in front of small iazzi, cisterns, small dry buildings and skirting the ravine with a
breathtaking view of the Sassi of Matera, you reach a large abandoned farm where the work spaces are still well recognized.

Continue towards Murgia Timone to reach another iazzo which today houses a visitor center and refreshment point. Back by van.
